Well this has been a couple weeks in the making. :) Two weeks ago, I left work on thursday night and went and ran errands. I didn't get home until 830ish. I was planning on staying home and working in my yard on friday.. Oh wait.. I have to go back. My friend Charlie got my lawn mower back to me on Monday. I spent from 6 until 830 mowing my lawn and back pasture.. Charlies is definitely one of my heros. He couldn't get the rims off... He tried heat and as he said other than dumping the whole thing in pentrating oil... Those suckers aren't coming off.. We are going to have to cut them off, but we are planning that for a winter project. I needed my lawn mowed.. The battery was dead on my phone, my Dad texted me at 930 and told me he was on the way to my house. Which I didn't get until after he left and charged my battery... By the way my home phone isn't working. Well it doesn't ring at my house. I am not sure if is the phone or thingy that converts it voice over ip. If you want to get hold of me, use my cell phone... Back to my story. .. So Dad shows up at 10 to my house. I was still in my pj's. I told him that I would get dressed. He mowed for a minute then he weeded eated... I am not sure what I did initially... I got the task of raking up what Dad had weed eated. I raked it up and then I put in the garbage can and took it to my back pasture so I can burn it. Don't tell anyone. I do have a burn permit but it expired the end of April... Dad finished weed eating.. I have a back pack sprayer.. Which by the way I love... It is nice, but it is heavy when it is full.. I like being able to spray four gallons at a time. Dad sprayed four gallons of round up. I finished raking.. I had a four foot section and I am thinking in my mind several things.. First I am a damn bureaucrat.. I don't work this hard, I think he is trying to kill me. Then it was like I can do this.. I can do four feet more. I got that done and then Dad said I will mow your lawn once before I leave, but I had to pick up all that I had just raked.. I am like this will take 9 1/2 hours, he assured me it wouldn't.. He was right.. :) I had to rake it up and put in the garbage can and then take it out to the back pasture. I think that I took seven loads.. He mowed the lawn.. It looked so nice... I thought it looks like a dry golf course... It helped so much, I can't even begin to tell you.. Thank you so much Dad, I really do appreciate you and your help... We worked from 10- 3. Did I mention that I am a bureacrat and not used to working this hard physically??? Some would say that hard period.. Well... Then on Saturday morningI went to this very cool nursery that Lorie told me about, that Kim told her about. It is on the way to brigham across from the rock quarry... They are warehouse nursery but on Saturday from 10-2 they sale to the public.. I got marigolds (I hope that they aren't stick ones ( I am trying to love and embrace them)), I got geriumans, pototoe vine, grass, petunuas and one of the coolest things that I got.. I got morning glory (I am hoping it is domesticated) that is called Grandpa Ott... I am going to plant them around my telephone pole and in two of my pots. I thought that was so cool.. for those of you that don't know Grandpa Ott was my Grandpa Price's name. I planned to get some cherry tomatoe plants for my pots on my back porch... I ended up getting some veggies.. I came home and dumped off my pots and then went to Layton to Anna graduation. She got a BS in Computer Information System (or something like that) Then we went to her house and she had an open house in celebration of her graduation. Oh my heck.. I did I mention that I was SORE... I was sore in strange places the inside of my thighs and the side of my back.. Sunday... I was even more sore... I really thought he must of being trying to kill... You know me being sore wasn't my Dad's fault and never once did he say anything to me... but when you have help, you really have to take advantage of it... So on Sunday evening Paula, Tracey, and Jessie went with me to the cemetery to steal mums.. From memorial day, Paula said that I really wasn't stealing because the ones that I took are the ones that they put down. I did go and steal someone after that so that I really did steal them.. BTW This does sound horrible, but they just get thrown away and the cemetery workers helped Paula last year. You plant them and they will bloom again the fall.. So I talked to Dad through facebook on Tuesday.. Asked him to till my lawn spot. I got veggies that I would like to plant. He came on Friday, while I was at work. My garden spot looks so beautiful. I should have planted my garden yesterday but I didn't believe them about it really raining... My plants would have been so happy in the ground with all the rain that we have had. :) So on Saturday I got up and went outside about noon. That is more how I roll... :) I really like to wait until the heat of the day and go outside and work. I finished pulling grass out of the flower bed along my house. (during the week I had pulled out the other half). I sprayed four gallons of sterlant in my drive ways. I broke the handle on my weedeater... Gonna see if Charlie will fix it.. It is even worse than that. The string went somewhere in never ever land. I had to go get fuel. I unboxed my tiller. I got it for my birthday a couple years ago and I haven't used it.. I added oil and fuel and Tilled my flowerbed along my house. It rocks.. It is a little one.. It works so nice... It looks so beautiful... I have two trees in my back yard. One keeps growing something, Dad thought it might be quaking's .. It is growing at the base of the tree. I had cut it off before.. I cut it off this time. My drill wasn't charged so I couldn't finish it off.. I am not sure where I got this, but I had a tree that kept growing in the flower bed in the front of my house, I read somewhere that you are suppose to cut if off and then drill a hole and put round up in the syringe and shoot it up. I am not sure how or why it works... But when I was working in the flowerbed, I pulled out the dead rotting stump from the tree... So I am going to do it with the tree in the back, hopefull I won't be killing the tree that I don't want to kill.. Wish me luck on this one.. I changed out two sprinkler heads... I sprayed four gallons of round up... It was about 8 pm. Sammy and I went for a ride, went along 5900 to 12 street then went to 6700 and then back to my house... When we got back, my sprinklers was on.. here is the problem some of what I sprayed with round up was getting watered.. doh! I am hoping that it had been longer than 30 minutes because that is how long it says that round up has to be before it exposed to water.. I made sure that all the sprinklers on that setting where doing what they were suppose to. I really didn't believe that it was going to rain... So I kept my sprinklers going... I worked from noon until 8... Yep I am sore... I am so thankful for Dad's help. I have been able to do things that I wouldn't be able to because I would still be working on the things that he helped me with.. It does make a huge different.. Thank you Dad.. You are my hero... Well Sunday... church... nap.. I really love my sunday naps... I just read that Tyler and Kellie (my bro and sister in law) are having a little girl... :) I talked to my mom on the phone for 1 hour and 30 minutes I think... Or longer.. I was teasing her that we don't have that type of relationship, we just talk over email.. We don't actually talk to each other.. Then I started typing this up.. I was only going to type for 15 minutes until 9.. Well it is 936 pm... Well I hope that everything is well for you all.. Lots of luvs,
pc
I thought I would update you on the cat situation.. No cats caught.. I got to get on it.. I am going to live trap them... I am a girl that has it all.. I have a live trap.. It goes back to my racoon issue... I am still hoping for luck on that one.. the people that are taking the kittens are on vacation so I have a couple of weeks..
ps.. again.. I will take some pictures and post them.. My yard is definitely looking better... woohoo!
